Who we are
Yumeet is run by the Yumeet developer (the seller named on our App Store page). This policy is also our notice under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (Article 8). Contact: support@yumeet.app
What we collect
• Account: email, or your Apple or Google sign-in ID (Apple may give us a private relay email).
• Profile: name, birthday (only your age is shown), gender, photos, videos, bio, food and diet tags, prompts. Optional: sexual orientation, MBTI.
• Verification: a live selfie with a random gesture, which of your photos the reviewer matched, the result and time.
• Activity: rooms you host or join, requests, check-ins and no-shows, chat messages and media, reactions, reports, blocks, feedback.
• Location: your device location while you use the app (only if you allow it).
• Searches: restaurant search text and how many searches you made today.
• Device: push notification token, app version, and crash or error reports.
Why we use it
• Running your account and showing your profile to the right people
• Matching you with dining rooms and showing distance to them
• Delivering chats and notifications
• Safety: moderation, verification, reports, harassment filters, no-show rules and quotas
• Fixing problems and keeping the service secure
We do not sell your data, show third-party ads or track you across other apps.
Sensitive information
Sexual orientation is optional. If you add it, you agree that we use it to show and filter rooms and that other signed-in users can see it on your profile; remove it at any time in Edit profile. Gender is used for the safety rules in our Terms.
Location
When you browse or check in with GPS, your location is sent to our server to work out distance or whether you are at the restaurant. We do not save it. The restaurant location of each room is saved.
Who can see what
Hosts see the full profile of people who request to join. People browsing see a room host's profile. Other members of a room are shown only after you are accepted. Chat messages are visible only to room members. Selfies are seen only by our reviewers.
Service providers and transfers
• Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in. Servers in Singapore.
• Google: restaurant search and maps (only the search text and area, through our server), Google sign-in.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications.
• Expo: push notification delivery.
• Sightengine (France): automatic checks of photos and videos you upload.
They process data only to provide their service to us. Some of them work outside Taiwan. We also share data when the law requires it, for example with police or a court.
How long we keep it
• Profile, photos and account: until you delete your account
• Chats and chat media: deleted 72 hours after the meetup, or kept until a report about them is handled plus 7 days
• Verification selfie: deleted right after review; we keep only the result and time
• Reports: up to 1 year after they are handled, for safety
• Crash reports and search counts: only as long as needed to fix problems and enforce limits
• Encrypted backups: up to 35 days, so deleted data disappears from backups within 35 days
Your rights
Under Article 3 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act you can ask to see your data, get a copy, correct or complete it, stop us collecting or using it, or delete it. Most of this you can do in the app (Edit profile, Settings → Delete account). For the rest, email support@yumeet.app. We answer access requests within 15 days and correction or deletion requests within 30 days; if we need longer, we tell you why.
If you do not give us data
Without an account and your birthday (to confirm you are 18+) you cannot use Yumeet. Without photos, hosts are less likely to accept you. Without the face check you cannot host or join women-only rooms opened by a woman. Without location you will not see distances or be able to check in by GPS.
Security and incidents
Access to data is limited by database rules, connections are encrypted, and backups are encrypted. If your data is stolen, leaked or changed without permission, we will tell you and report it to the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Yumeet is only for adults 18+. We delete accounts that belong to minors.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this policy and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
